Hi Gerolf, very interesting buckle and quite somewhat crude in construction, seems to be a brass plate which has been punched out with the emblem, many thanks for showing us yet another wonderful buckle from you vast collection

A wonderful, rare and highly specialised buckle.

The Deutsche Freischar (Bund der Wandervögel und Pfadfinder) was a German youth organisation, originating from the merger of several small Wandervögel and Scouting type groups. It was one of the largest and most important associations of the Bündische Jugend within the Weimar Republic besides the Deutscher Pfadfinderbund and Reichsschaft Deutscher Pfadfinder.
