To be honest Markus, I have not had alot of experience with these buckles, never owned one! Are the prongs bent? Could it be Assmann made?

My first impression is that it's a good one. I'm sure there were a variety of makers for this type of buckle. My example is a little different - but front details are similar. Here is a pic for the sake of comparison.
I am confident that the example you have shown is authentic.

Markus, have a look at this past thread, David posted a few buckles on there, the first buckle that he posted looks very similar to yours, I am sure David will comment when he reads this thread

There was a very in depth thread on this buckle some time ago regarding the provenance of some of these buckles. First as to yours, yes it is good. I never have had a problem with welded "U" catches and even better, welded prong bars. As to the footed catches and sleeved prong bars there still remains some doubt in my mind as well as some of the other members as to wether or not these are period produced buckles. Not fakes, but possibly produced much later to fill the need for an old "Stahlhelmbund" member to own one.
