Angola shows a buckle like this and says it might have been made for export.
Sorry Tony not a buckle I am familiar with, I do not think it was part of the TR era, could be like Kirby stated a export piece?
Ben
Hello,
in my opinion, this buckle is for civilian musicians and considering the type of workmanship, it was made in the 20 or early 30 in germany for the export market
The stamping "GERMANY" has been widely used after WW1 on german surplus military weapons sold on the american market , particularly Luger pistols
This is an interesting buckle, but it does not have to be confused with the extremely rare military "musikmeister" buckle of the imperial period
Best regards,
Many thanks for the insight, very interesting
