Brilliant How many have unit markings?
Hi Chaps, I thought I'd post up my latest Prussian. I know it doesn't look much but this is a very rare buckle. It's a transitional type dating from 1915 when they were moving from 2 piece brass with a nickel centre to all steel & for a while made 2 piece steel buckles.
What makes this rare is that it has a pewter roundal. Buckle makers experimented with all pewter buckles; but they failed as the metal was too soft & tore when used. Perhaps they were using up the roundals by attaching them to a steel body, who knows.
Cheers,
Richard.

Sachsen G.H. Osang
Very, very nice
Good Day: I have a couple of Saxon buckles I wanted to share with you as I have found the information on this forum very interesting.
The first buckle is dated Dresden 1913 H .Aurich and on the side shows the 100.R.
The base appears to be metal with a copper crown. Most of the Saxon examples I have seen are the reverse.
The second example is all metal with grey paint and in the inside in very small characters one can read G.H.Osang, Dresden, 1918.
