Very nice buckle, Richard... I saw this one on ebay as well but completely neglected to see the maker mark. Any ideas yet on who JAD was? I had also not seen one of these with this black paint before. Again, very nice
Best,
Adam
Thanks Adam. Still no idea who JAD. Can't find a maker to match. The D might be Dresden; but I'm just guessing, Cheers, Richard.
Great thread guys
Some really impressive buckles being displayed.

koppel71, outstanding rare buckle ! thanks for showing.....I must get some more buckles in my collection, in the past ive only bought them as complete belt and buckle sets to complete mannaquin displays.
Prost ! Steve.
A great piece! I have one but without the tab. A rare example and testmony to continued use of brown leather despite the late 1915 order to dye leather black.
Great buckle Very rare. One I'm still looking for myself, Cheers, Richard.
