Article about: Next, 3 buckles with identical bodies but with different makers/sellers on the tabs. This design is by far my favourite. Really classy feel IMO. Each buckle is finished differently, one galv

Hi, they look like original naval officers belt buckles to me. As for price I'm not sure as I don't collect them. Best to search the net for examples.

    Hello,

this imperial marine officers buckle was introduced in 1902 (previous model did not have the monogramm W over the anchor) and can be found in different sizes :

60 mm diameter for the full dress uniform with brocade belt
50 mm for the service uniform with black leather belt
40 mm for the black moire dagger belt with lions head hangers introduced in 1911 and replacing the smaller belt of 1902
30 mm for the first model dagger belt of 1902

These buckles are usually cast and gold plated, some others are stamped with "hollow" back

    Regards, Hervé

    Hello,

no problem with the originality of these buckles, and for the prices it depends of the size and of the quality of the finish

the first one is cast brass and not fire gilted, so do not exceed 100 euros

the second one has a very thin gold wash partially gone and seems to be a 40mm variety : 50 to 70 euros

That is what I would pay for that kind of buckles, but it is possible to find very high quality specimens as naval officers of that time were usually from rich families and were ready to spend a lot of money in their uniforms and accessories such as swords, daggers, brocade belts and so on

    Best regards, Hervé
