Next, 3 buckles with identical bodies but with different makers/sellers on the tabs. This design is by far my favourite. Really classy feel IMO. Each buckle is finished differently, one galvanised, one painted & one with a sort of frosting. The makers/sellers are top to bottom : -
Senossensch, ???ngerg, Sattlermeister G.m.b.h., Bergneustadt, Rhld, 1916.
Militar-Effectenfabrik, G.m.b.h., Duren-Rheinl., 1916.
Bernhard Richter Jun., Magdeburg, 1917.
Last one, a light grey painted very late war buckle issued by the Guards stores. It's maker marked A:Ph. Hoffmann, Berlin, 1918. Also marked BAG, the issue stamp of the Garde-Korps (Berlin).
Thanks Adler, here's my last bits. I'm sorry if this causes the buckle bug to bite deep
First up, a tomback based buckle to the state of Mecklenburg-Strelitz marked D.R.G.M. on the roller bar. Sadly a previous owner polished the buckle. Hence the odd colour.
The last three items from my collection are belt & buckle sets.
First a Saxony example. A classic brown rough side out belt with brass hook. The buckle is the standard steel 1916 pattern; but unusual as it has 2 maker marks. The body is marked H. Aurich, Dresden & the tab G.A. Zickmann, Leipzig-Reudnitz, 1916.
Second, an excellent condition light grey painted steel Prussian buckle & belt. The buckle is marked W.Collin, Berlin, 1916 & the belt ????, Mannheim, 1915.
Lastly, a very knackered, filthy, 'been there' Prussian Guards set. The buckle is maker marked ? Berlin.C17, 1915 & the tab is marked BAG, the issue stamp of the Garde-Korps (Berlin).
The buckle is a rare 2 piece steel buckle with brass fittings. This was transitional type inbetween the 2 part brass/nickel silver 1895 pattern & the all steel 1 part buckle issued from 1916 onwards.
The belt (with a brass hook) is marked B. Wiedermann, Berlin, N.39, 1915.
That's the lot from me for now. Until I buy something new that is
