Thank you David, that is interesting. A commemorative type piece for commercial sale. The would explain why I could not find any good comparisons. Give the piece less value but an interesting piece of history.

    Not so John,

Somewhat more difficult to find (in my opinion of course) than a buckle that may have been issued and heavily worn during the "Great War". For an Imperial buckle collector, a little gem in super condition that perfectly compliments and reflects this grossly under rated genre per se.

    Regards and best wishes,

Much as I hate to be the bearer of bad news, this buckle is a modern reproduction. Available e.g. from German ebay here:

The drawing as shown by mr. North is from a leaflet from Haunstein & Kirchhof
as article-number 1031. However the buckle is not described as to be totally from
silvered material, but as polished brass with a silvered medallion (messing poliert
    mit versilberter Auflage
). Maybe he has overseen the description with another page?
Also other concerns offered this buckle, but as far as I could find out, they also always
were from brass with a silvered medalllion.

The brass buckle with silvered version medallion I was given tens and tens of them
during one of my researches at the Overhoff-concern in the 1970's!

    Hello Wilhelm,

Surely it is David and not mr. (sic) North?
