    Default Helmet in Afghanistan 2003 and Iraqi Freedom 2001

    First of all, sorry about my bad english.

    I am from Brazil and I have a Helmet Collection (WWI, WWII, Vietnam and Desert Storm 1990/91).

    I want to know about the helmets used in Iraqi Freedom 2001 and Afghanistan 2003.

    What kind of helmets and camos used in both conflicts? Only PASGTs?

    Thanks a lot;

    The US stopped using choc chip in the mid 90's, but it was given to the new Iraqi Army as uniform after the 2nd Gulf.

    So, I understood that:

    Iraqi Freedom 2003:
    1. PASGT KEVLAR + 3-Color Desert Camouflage Pattern (BDU)

    Afghanistan 2001:
    1. PASGT KEVLAR + ACU DIGITAL COVER

    Is that right?

    And what about ACH COMBAT MICH? Used in both conflicts? What camo?

    Thanks a lot;

    I think ACU Marpat and 3 colour was used in Afghan and Iraq at different times.

    I wouldn't want to have to train that rabble AMTG, they look like airsofters I notice they don't have mags

    They had just got to the range....we had to hand thrm their magazines on the mound.....they weren't bad soldiers, the bloke in the last photo was a old soldier from Saddams army....they just didn't have a high level of discipline in the basic soldier skills...like holding their weapons correctly when patrolling !!! Or holding their weapons up when firing grenade launches!!! Ever seen a 40mm skip across the sand!!

    They had a mix of US and Soviet/ ex Iraqi army gear

    We did come across large amounts of the Iraq M1 clone helmets in desert sand colour, discarded in the desert....unfortunately I wasn't able to acquire one as they would never have got thru customs, no matter how well they were cleaned....there was dormant plague in the dust.....and picking up discarded equipment was frowned upon in the Australian Army.....I was very lucky to get my Iraqi uniform through
