Thanx Adrian was very pleased to finally be able to add an example to my collection and yes you are correct the mount and bracket is huge but surprisingly very light weight as far as I know they are the only NVG mount and bracket assembly produced in Canada..

    I can't recall seeing these on other country's helmets....so perhaps they're Aussie-specific????
The Dutch also use these mounts for the rabintex 303 helmets used by the SF and on the Schuberth 826 Kevlar helmet.

Current US issued Enhanced Combat Helmet ( ECH ) as produced by Ceradyne a 3M company...
Take note this helmet is fitted with the not often seen Norotos ENVG AN/PSQ-20 helmet mount system the battery is supported on the back of the helmet body by an additional mounting bracket and a braided web reinforced wire is run under the cover to the mounting bracket on the front..
A few details that I found on the Norotos main web sight well researching this particular bit of kit the ENVG front Bracket contacts the helmet directly securely and the mounting Bolt providing Level II Ballistic protection, the front clip on the bracket provides protection for the wiring harness and rotational stability for the Mount.
Maximised Rotational Stability of Imaging System using one front hole and two rear holes for attachment.
Hot shoe Style Battery Pack Compatible with AN/PSQ-20a and or AN/PSQ-20b Imaging System...
Durable Bracket, Clips, Cable and all materials and Surface Finishes to MIL-STD 810G will withstand extreme environmental field conditions.
This is often seen used in conjunction with the SENVG Helmet Mount which combines the uniqueness of 90-degree clockwise or counterclockwise rotational stow with a durable ruggedness—making it the ideal complement for versatile field use by providing multiple and immediate positioning to left-eye or right-eye use and corresponding stow positions.
It is designed to allow the user to choose from five (5) different stow positions, excellent for task-specific operations with Force-to-Overcome design, the SENVG Helmet Mount further maximises safety through the Sweep-Away function that absorbs lateral-force impacts to Imaging System, “sweeping-away” as it rotates, virtually eliminating the possibility of damage/injury due to lateral impact events.
The SENVG Helmet Mount features the unique blending of security enhanced resourcefulness and precision manufacturing providing one of the most stable Anti-Wobble night vision platforms available on the market, the SENVG Helmet Mount is an ideal product when extended safety and flexibility is of paramount importance.
It Features ergonomically Optimised Vertical, Tilt, and Fore/Aft-Eye-Relief Adjustment Levers for a custom-fit user experience, Helmet Mount Release Button allows quick one-handed release from Helmet Bracket or Shroud, Five Position Force-to-Overcome Stow provides multiple stowage options, Force-to-Overcome Sweep-Away absorbs lateral force impacts to Imaging System disengaging during side impact event.
Minimised accidental impact of imaging system compared to conventional top stowage positions devices..

I know you have covered this particular mount Adrian but perhaps we could re-visit it in a little more detail..
The Norotos Universal Shroud is one of the most widely-recognized NVG helmet shrouds in service with US Special Operations Forces today.
Norotos worked closely with troops to develop a state-of-the-art NVG mount solution that addresses the realities of modern warfare.
The unmistakable Universal Shroud is the product of this design effort and delivers exactly what its name implies. It is compatible with nearly all helmets in use by the DOD (including, but not limited to MICH/ACH, CVC, PASGT, FAST, PRO-TECH, A-Alpha) and will hard mount to those drilled for either the standard single hole or MARSOC/WARCOM three hole patterns.
Non-drilled helmets are not a problem because the Universal Shroud can be coupled with the optional Norotos Strap Assembly as can be seen used on the ACH helmet below with the UCP camouflage cover..

The Norotos Universal Shroud helps to reduce goggle-to-helmet wobble with its built-in Advanced Stability Management System.
Starting with the back side of the shroud, an affixed gasket runs the perimeter of the unit’s unique curvature and creates a compression effect when the shroud is tightened down to the helmet. It also helps the shroud adapt to the slight changes in surface geometry between helmet designs and shell sizes.
The front face of the shroud has four high endurance rubber shock absorbers that compress between the shroud and NVG mount. A specially designed tether plug on the shroud surface allows the operator to affix a length of 550 cord between the NVG optic and the shroud.
This important feature helps insure the retention of valuable equipment if it becomes disengaged during a drama. The plug can be freed from the shroud under high pressure for individual safety or storage of an NVG.

The unit itself is extremely low profile with no sharp edges to snag risers during airborne ops the shroud does not need to be taped for a jump.
The interface mates with the standard issue USGI Rhino Arm mounting bracket It will also take the Norotos AKA2 or INVG Mounts right out of the box.
Other Norotos mounts can be adapted to fit using Norotos-manufactured Shroud-to-Bracket kits.
The Universal Shroud takes more force to secure and release the mount than a standard MICH Plate. But, once the mount is secured, it is extremely solid.
