I believe its a lions head from the pics. Did you happen to pick this up at an auction in Hatfield ?
I sure hope it's not on an auction site because I didn't put it there! thanks for the info.
No. I was at the auction and there were 4 or five theses there. Either way its a very nice sword. congrats
great example.
100% Lionhead type.
It's a Lions head (the hair of the mane gives that away) and a very Nice one at that. With your dove's head, they make a fine pair.

Thanks for the info. I just picked up a crusty first model Luft dagger and a couple of extras yesterday. Posts on the way. For whatever reason, I'm really drawn to the 3R sabers. I think it's because they are affordable but also extremely attractive and well crafted. They are usually less expensive than a dagger of equal condition.
Hello naptime, If you have not already done so, you really should look through one of our members posted collection of swords-Michael Ryan. He has, in my opinion, perhaps one of the most mind boggling collections anywhere in the World. Here is the link to it, if you'd like to take a look. It's quite large and takes abit of time to look through, but definitely worth it!
