The new photos confirm it for me, the whole thing is reproduction. Like Steve says, even the wire wrap is bad. It didn't look that bad in the first photos. I thought maybe the guard was all that was bad but I was wrong. Don't let it get you down Steven. Everybody in this forum that has purchased very many pieces at all have bought bad items. If you can't get the seller to take it back, all you can do is laugh it off and not to let it happen again. Don't let it eat on you or it will spoil your collecting fun. If you can't return it, put it on Gunbroker as a repro and get what you can for it. That way it won't be sitting there pissing you off everytime you see it.
