    Luke, Not speaking to any specific makers, some German companies were known to use blades and/or other components from other makers. So I'm not convinced that it's a WW I blade that was used. In looking at and comparing WWI era Officer's swords to TR era Officer's swords besides the oftentimes presence of etchings, I found that the WW I swords were almost always noticeably larger with wider blades when looking at both the blades - and the langet portions of the hilt.
