From the photo the damage other than the guard was not evident hence my initial valuation of circa £250. Even at £130, given that the problems could have been resolved, I would probably have taken a pop at it. Better luck next time. My premice is that I would erather have a poor sword to work on than no sword at all??

I am a patient man, so will get it next time. Although I must admit that since the sale I have a niggling feeling that I should have gone a little higher.
