Is it an Original german ww2 sword?

Wesley, It looks that it's most likely OK with a couple of Caveats. The scabbard looking like it may have been repainted, and the blade/hilt maybe some kind of clear lacquer like finish on top of those components?? Or maybe it's just the imaging/lighting that is affecting my sense of them that is at fault? Best Regards, Fred

It is weapon oil to protect it from rust.

+1 to both observations. I believe I have an identical one albeit with slightly rusty original scabbard finish. I looked mine up once and if my suspect memory doesn't betray me, I identified it as an Eickhorn Wrangel pattern.
