Hi Guys, to start the new forum off, I though that I would show this sword from my collection.

I like the design of these Dovehead swords, even though they are rather plain being devoid of eagles and swastikas.

    Maker is Carl Eickhorn.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Swords are nice for sure.
Imo this is one of the few under priced items in this hobby.
A lot hardware for the money.

    Best Regards

indead!! Compared to all other items ...
When I started my first collection back in the '70 'ties an SA dagger was 75 euro and a WH sword between 75 and 150 euro!

Hi Guys, I thought that I would bring this old thread of mine back to the top as I have an item to show you. This sword shown here in the two photos below belongs to a friend of mine who brought it over to show me yesterday afternoon. He is thinking of selling it and I may buy it.

The blade is unmarked and is mint.

Can anyone offer any info on this sword? As far as I know the nickle plated scabbard would make it an early (Reichwehr era?) private purchase option?

    Cheers, Ade.

Hi Kris, sorry I did not reply to your post, I somehow overlooked it.

Yes, the sword is indeed the same type.

Hi Guys, the good news is this sword in now in my collection. It is a private purchase Cavalry Enlisted mans or NCO's sabre. Third Reich in date.

Here are some new photos of it, with the knot now correctly tied in place. The sword is just mint. There is no plating loss or any marks or imperfections. I am very pleased with it.

Compared the first sword of mine which started this thread, it is about 3 inches shorter in overall length. Swords actually came in different length sizes due to soldiers being of different heights. This makes sence when you think about it.

    Cheers, Ade.
