Re: Help Identify 3 Swords
Hi Frazer, here you go:
Top one is a Luftwaffe sword. £900
Middle I don't know. Closer pics of the hilt might help.
Bottom is a 1937 pattern Luftwaffe dagger. £400
Values are insurance not retail.
Any inscriptions (not makers marks) on the blades? This would increase the values.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Help Identify 3 Swords
Thanks everyone, as you can see from two of the swords, there is a dent from the shovel when he was digging them up. At the moment my father has them, I'm sure they will be given to me in time. Next month when I'm out at my parents place, they live on the other end of the country. I will take a picture of some of the German medals they have.
About 5 days after the fall of Berlin my grandfather who has the swords went to the Reichstag and was walking thru the burned out building, he found a room that housed all of the war medals for the german military, he took as many as he could fit in his pockets and we have them in a box at home. What is really neat, is the boxes are chared where they got bunred from the fires, but inside they are in perfect shape. Sorry but the pics will have to wait a month until I get their.
Thanks for the help, I'll also get some better pics of the swords and a 1898 Lee Enfield mle that is in perfect condition.
Thanks again

At the end of the war my grandfather was billeted in Germany as part of the RAFs MP's, the owner of the house said that a German General had burried something in the back yard, he went out back and dug up three swords, army, navy and airforce, anyway. Can you help identify them, what kind of value should we attach to them for insurance purposes. Thanks for the help
Frazer
