Article about: Hi guys I found this beautiful sword for my collection at a Max show. I already have a same model but this one has a etched blade. When i compared them after get home, i discovered big diffe

    Beautiful sword.
    May I ask what is that oval piece on the handguard on the one on the bottom left?
    When I zoom in it gets blurry.

    That makes sense. A "top shelf" sword of this quality would often be bought by an officer from an aristocratic family and the addition of the family Arms to the sword was not unusual, for this select group. May be possible to identify the original owner through the Arms.

    Now that does add to the beauty!. I've never seen a coat of arms on the handguard like that before. Very personalized piece.
