Default NCO sword knot: real or not? Appropriate for an early NCO?

I found this for sale. I own (as of late) a Krebs NCO SS sword, maker marked, and was wondering if indeed there were such "unmarked" (no SS runes) knots such as these used on MM swords?

Additionally, would this one be appropriate for a sword such as the one I have??

And of course, is it an original or a copy?

    regards, m

PS: I'll try and post pix of my sword if its of some importance as to obtaining opinions.

I would say not. (scuse the pun)

It sold on e bay for $87 so that you be a good indication to it's authenticity. Anything real on that place hits the roof where prices are concerned
