I would love to see some more photos of the visor caps. How long have you been collecting?

Hi Patrick, Thank you for your message and positive comments. More photos?? Yes but of what, swords or visors or both? I too collect visors and specialise in GB/E, W and WWII German/US/Russian and those that I take a shine to.

Hoard much? geez save some swords for the rest of us guys lol, amazing collection, I only have a few, a mint dovehead and a lionhead, also have a WW1 Prussian Sword, photo's included, just the basics for me right now but would love to own more in the future such as a Luftwaffe sword and maybe a Police, they come in so many styles that collecting them would be endless. Nice job on your displaying!

Hi Again Patrick, Thank you for your message. In answer to your question, "how long", i started at school but collected toy soldiers and dinkys first then was given a German helmet for helping an oAP on a regular basis and the rest is history as they say. Back in the 60's I was based over in Singapore and my collection was lost/stolen so I started again after a USAF "Top shirt" showed me some of his dagger and that was in the early 70's. Since then I have flown off at many tangents and am now more of a compulsive haorder!! Or so I am told by my wife!! I have added a couple more photos of some visors for your interest.

Hi Maximus, Thank you for your message, photos and comments. First, I must take issue with your comment "I only have"!! What you only have IMO are some high class and beautiful swords to be very proud of!! Quantity is imaterial!! In fact, if possible, could you please send me close ups of the hilts so that I can take a good look at them? What else do you collect?

Hi Michael,
I have included the close ups you asked for, and also some photos of what I collect, My first sword was a showroom mint Eickhorn Wrangel Model with original felt hilt cover, then I got a WKC Lionhead with nickle plated scabbard, then a early 1889 Imperial WKC, I try to keep my collection well rounded, some helmets, hats, caps, medals, edged weapons, and some odd items. Looking foward to seeing more of what you got!!!

Only kidding, very very impressive collection. I have never before in my life seen so many beautiful swords in one collection.

Hi Maximus, Thank you for your prompt response. With a name like Maximus I was expecting to see Roman helmets and shields etc??? Instead all I get to view are some cracking swords and a fine collection!! What level is your Political Leader's cap< I have two, Gaulitung (Maroon) and Ortgruppe (Blue) and would dearly like to aquire the Reich and Kreis levels. Your swords are very desirable but my favourite is the stubby winged eagle by WKC. Like you, I also like variety and would find it hard to dedicate a collection to only one or two subject matters. Ergo I have bits of a lot rather than lots of a bit. I will put some more photos on the forum for you to view as I still have not worked out how to attach pics to replies.

You have displayed a very nice collection of swords for our viewing pleasure and I thank you for that.

It would be nice to see some detailed photos of some of your favorites. I am predominantly an edged weapons collector but, due to the fact that most of my family served in the german army in some capacity, I have been bitten by the "bug". I have only a few TR era swords but, have amassed a fine edged weapons collection. I am also a maker of miniature swords and knives.
It is easy to post photos on a reply, simply click "post reply" and below this box to the right you will see an option to "Go Advanced". If you click on this, it will give you the option to add photos.

Hi Ralph, Thank you very much for your comments and welcome. Also, I appreciate your instructions re adding photos to replies. I would love to see any available photos of your swords and in particular, any that you may be willing to trade or sell etc. You must be tallented to be able to make edged weapons so I will ask you a question if I may? Do you or can you make grips for swords? I have a number of damaged swords and am looking for replacement grips either original or made up. Re showing my favourites, I am happy to do so but do not wish to bore anyone or appear to be showing off. Like you, I too like edged weapons and have a collection of daggers and bayonets to accompany the swords. I had a friend in the RCAF who was based at Cold Lake but alas, he has passed on now. I have nothing related to either your dad or his Regiment sorry.
