Sword 37 (99) Again by the firm of Eickhorn, this item is an Imperial Army Artillery officers sabre.
The trade mark is a pair of back to back conjoined squirrels over the initials "CE".
a. Hilt. Plain nickel plated steel with backstrap secured to the blade tang.
b. Obverse Langet. Plain.
c. Reverse langet. Plain.
d. Pommel. Plain dove head.
e. Blade. Etched, plated with single full size fullers. Etch attributable to "Kurmark. Feldart. Reg. No39".
f. Scabbard. Standard black steel scabbard with a single fixed ring suspension fitting and loop to the reverse side of the scabbard. Fixed rings are usually only found on Imperial German Army sabres.
g. Rarety. Quite rare.
