Sword 93 (164) Maufactured by the firm of Paul Weyersberg. The Trade mark comprises the name "Paul Weyersberg" in an arch over "& Co" over an inverted arch comprising the word "Solingen". The whole without an oval outline.
a. Hilt. Cast in brass. The backstrap is attached by directly to the blade tang. The grip is of wood with a plastic cover and a brass wire wrap.
b. Obverse Langet. A pair of crossed sabres superimposed over a sprig of laurel signifying Victory. The whole encompassed within a plain shield.
c. Reverse langet. A styled shield encompassed within a plain shield.
d. Pommel. A lion head with red stone eyes.
e. Blade. Plated steel with single full size fullers and unatributed etched patterns.
f. Scabbard. Standard black steel scabbard with single ring suspension fitting and a rectangular suspension loop to rear.
g. Rarety. Quite rare.

Sword 94 (102) Maufactured by the firm of Weyersberg Kirschbaum and Cie, WKC, WK&C, The Trade mark comprises a King's Head along side a Knight's Helmet over the initials "WK&C".
a. Hilt. Cast in brass. The backstrap is attached by directly to the blade tang. The grip is of wood with a plastic cover and a brass wire wrap.
b. Obverse Langet. A pair of crossed cannon superimposed over a sprig of laurel signifying Victory. The whole within a patterned edged shield. There are two small vertically aligned holes in the langet designed to take the reverse fitment prongs for a langet insignia. This would probably be a guard star, branch of service or regimental badge??
c. Reverse langet. WKC style knight's helm with mantle surmounting a styled shield. The whole within a patterned edged shield.
d. Pommel. A lion head with red stone eyes.
e. Blade. Plated steel with single full size fullers and unatributed etched patterns.
f. Scabbard. Standard black steel scabbard with single ring suspension fitting and a rectangular suspension loop to rear.
g. Rarety. Quite rare.

a. Hilt. Cast in brass. The backstrap is attached directly to the blade tang. The grip is of wood with a plastic cover and a brass wire wrap. The pommel is in the form of a jawless lion head.
b. Obverse Langet. A pair of crossed cannon superimposed over a floral wreath on an outlined shield.
c. Reverse langet. A styled shield within a wreath, laurel (signifying Victory)to the left and oak (signifying Strength) to the right. This particular configeration of foiliage was popular with the later Lufwaffe and appears on anumber of their badges.
d. Pommel. Lion head.
e. Blade. Plain, plated steel with single full size fullers.
f. Scabbard. Standard bluede steel scabbard with single brass ring suspension fitting and rectangular suspension loop to rear.
g. Rarety. Quite scarce

f. Scabbard. Standard nickel plated steel scabbard with double ring suspension fitting and devoid of a rectangular suspension loop to rear.

e. Blade. Polished steel with single full size fullers and unatributed etched patterns.
f. Scabbard. Black leather scabbard with single ring suspension fitting and an added rectangular suspension loop to rear on a brass locket. There is also a plain brass chape.

Sword 98 (95) Maufactured by the firm of Paul Weyersberg. The Trade mark comprises the name "Paul Weyersberg & Co Solingen" in a vertical oval ribbon encompassing a sword, blade down partially encompassed by a wreath. This sabre is entitled "The Armistice Sword" by both Angolia and Johnston. Angolia shows the sword with an eagle head pommel and made by Eickhorn in Section 16 of his book Swords of Hitlers TR. He states that the sword illustrated in his book is only the second one that he has ever known of. Johnston, on line, shows the lion head version identical to to mine and also by Paul Weyersberg and has a price of over $2500 on it. I am not aware of the origin of the title "Armistice" sword???? Unfortunately, niether author dates their swords and the only armistice that I am aware of is that of 1918? I can not imagine Hitler allowing officers to wear a sword commemorating that event? If you have any information re this sword, I would be most greatfull for your input.

Sword 99 (94) Maufactured by the firm of Weyersberg & Co. There is no trade mark however, the wording "Weyersberg & Co - Solingen" is etched into the blade spine immediately below the langets. One author dates a very similar sword by the firm of Eickhorn at circa 1933 and refers to it as a "Reichswehr Artillery Officer's Sword". Although I am happy that the sword is original, the quality is inferior to any other Weyersberg sword that I have encountered. If this is a Reichswehr sword, and I believe that it probably is, then that may account for both the lack of quality and the fact that there are traces of black paint in the recesses of the hilt. The German Army, during the period 1921 to 1933, under the Weimar Republic was very poorly funded and equiped. This was due to the restrictions of the Treaty of Versailles, reperations for WWI and the great depression. Perhaps, due to the lack of funds, swords were reduced to a quality that both the Imperial and TR Army's would have found less than satisfactory, ergo the quality of this poor sword? If you have an oppinion on this sword or subject, please let me know.

c. Reverse langet. WKC style knight's helmet with mantle surmounting a stylised shield all on an outer outlined shield.
d. Pommel. Lion head head small red stone eyes.
e. Blade. Plain plated steel with single full size fullers.
f. Scabbard. standard pattern black steel scabbard with single ring suspension fitting and a rectangular suspension loop to rear.
g. Rarety. Quite rare (if original).
Sword 100 (Rene) The trade mark on the blade of this sword is a stamped single squirrel holding a sword over "Eickhorn Solingen".
a. Hilt. Cast in gilded alloy and the backstrap attached using a pair of alloy rivets. The grip is of wood with black plastic covering and a silver alloy wire wrap. On the underside of the cross guard are the stamped "D.R.P." (Patented). Unusual "flattened" knuckle guard with patterned edges.
b. Obverse Langet. Military eagle looking to its right on a patterned outlined shield.
c. Reverse langet. Vertical escutcheon on a patterned outlined shield.
d. Pommel. Lion head.
e. Blade. Plain, plated with single full size fullers.
f. Scabbard. Standard black steel scabbard with a single ring suspension fitting and loop to the reverse side of the scabbard.
g. Rarety. Quite rare.

Sword 101 (59) This sword is a Model M1889 Prussian Infantry Officers sword by Clemen & Jung. The trade mark comprises a coronet or crown surmounting a shield on which is an upper case "Z" flanked on each side by a dot.. Note, the "Z" can be either angled as illustrated or as typed as is the case on this sword. There are two basic patterns of this sword, fixed and folding guard. The fixed guard has three vertical guard bars covering the knuckles whilst the folding guard type only employs two. However, there are likely to be variations. Additionally, higher quality and presentation swords tend to include far more hilt decoration. The Imperial Prussian Royal Cypher is positioned centrally on the grip.
a. Hilt. Cast in gilded brass, the hilt comprises seven parts,
(1) Oval tang nut.
(2) Pommel cap.
(3) Knuckle bow and cross guard. On the fixed guard model, this item includes the cartouche.
(4) Cartouche. Not a separate item on the fixed guard sword.
(5) Furrule
(6) Finger support. This is usually an optional item so may/may not be present. In this case not present.
(7) Grip assembly. This includes the wooden former, cover and wire wrap. In this case plastic with a brass wire wrap.
b. Obverse Langet. None.
c. Reverse langet. None.
d. Pommel. Plain oval tang nut and cap assembly.
e. Blade. Plain, plated with double full size fullers. The blade has been sharpened for field service.
f. Scabbard. Standard black steel scabbard with a single ring suspension fitting and loop to the reverse side of the scabbard.
g. Rarety. Common.
