Sword 166 (100) The manufacturer of this sword is not known as there is niether a trade mark, initials nor name on the blade. However, the name "G Laute Berlin" is etched into the spine of the blade. I believe this to be the supplier rather than the manufacturer of this sabre.

Also etched on the spine is the word "HOFLIEFERANT.", meaning purveyor to the Imperial Royal Household and or the Kaiser. A rare and esteemed privelage for any retailer and similar to the UK title "By Appointment To".

    a. Hilt. Cast in brass. The backstrap is attached by means of a pair of rivets. The grip is of wood with a shagreen cover and a brass wire wrap.
    b. Obverse Langet. A pair of crossed sabres within a plain circular ribbon on a plain outlined shield. The langet has a pair of horizontaly alligned holes which would have held a guard star or other speciality insignia.
    c. Reverse langet. Plain shield within a plain circular ribbon on a plain outlined shield.
    d. Pommel. A jawless lion head.
    e. Blade. Plain natural steel with single full size fullers and unattributed etching.
    f. Scabbard. Standard black steel scabbard with single ring suspension fitting with a rectangular suspension loop to rear.
    g. Rarety. Rare.

Sword 169 (125) The manufacturer of this sword is not known as there is niether a trade mark, initials nor name on the blade. This sword is an Imperial Navy Officer's pattern named to the orginal owner. There are two basic patterns of this sword, fixed and folding guard. The fixed guard sword has a basket style hilt incorporating a cartouche on which is a representation of an early styled fouled anchor ensigned by the Imperial Prussian Crown but no Royal Cypher. The folding guard type is similar however the cartouche can be folded back against the sword grip. There are many variations to the designs of the hilts of both patterns. Additionally, higher quality and presentation swords tend to include greater hilt decoration and etched blades.

    a. Hilt. Cast in gilded brass with the backstrap attached directly to the blade tang. The grip is made from ivory with a brass wire wrap and there is a small moveable flap which forms the reverse side of rhe guard and when closed, locks the sword into its scabbard. The reverse "flap" is inscribed with the owner's name.
    b. Obverse Langet. Not Applicable.
    c. Reverse langet. Not applicable.
    d. Pommel. Lion Head.
    e. Blade. Standard sabre pattern in natural steel with pipe or quill spine, none attributable etching and no fullers.
    f. Scabbard. Standard Naval pattern leather scabbard with double ring suspension and drag, all produced in gilded brass. There is no loop to the reverse side of the scabbard, however there is a stud which holds the reverse hilt fitting.
    g. Rarety. Quite rare.

Sword 170 (183) Maufactured by the firm of Carl Eickhorn, CE and the Trade Mark is a pair of back to back squirrels surmounting the initials "CE".

    a. Hilt. This is a very unusual hilt as the knuckle guard is cast in nickel plated steel but the back strap is cast in nickel plated alloy, probably brass and is secured directly to the blade tang. The grip is of wood with a shagreen cover and should have a brass wire wrap.
    b. Obverse Langet. Plain.
    c. Reverse langet. Plain.
    e. Blade. Plated steel with single full size fullers and atributed etching to "Feldartill. Reg. Gen. Feldzeugmeister (2. Brandenb.) No18".
    f. Scabbard. Standard black steel scabbard with a single fixed suspension fitting and a loop to the reverse side of the scabbard.
    g. Rarety. Quite rare.

Sword 171 (194) Maufactured by the firm of T T RUNEKEL????? Solingen. I am not sure whether this is German made British Army 1796 weapon or a Prussian P1811 "Blucher" or just an export sword? Othan than the maker's name which appears to be TT Runekel there are no noticeable ordnance markings which is, in its self, unusual for either a German or British military weapon?? Any opinions on this sword are more than welcome.

    a. Hilt. Cast in natural finished steel, the back strap is secured directly to the blade tang. The grip is of wood with a leather wrap.
    b. Obverse Langet. Plain.
    c. Reverse langet. Plain.
    e. Blade. Plain polished steel with single full size fullers.
    f. Scabbard. Missing.
