I'd be interested in seeing just how well the blade fits the scabbard presented with it.
Some interesting posts and observations ......... and not to 'muddy the waters' - in addition to the sawtooth Feuerwehr and the different hilt styles, there was also a double edged blade version available that lacked the central fuller. The Germans of the period (in a military context) seeming to differentiate the sawteeth as for Pioneers (Field Engineers). As a general observation - over the years having seen some studio (and propaganda) photos that on occasion had me looking for something that never was. Ranging from put-together studio props, to very obsolete or non-service swords and sidearms that were just being used as props. Not that I'm saying this is case here as the jury is still out as information is being gathered. Best Regards, Fred
