Looks 100% real. I`ve been collecting swords for 27 years and that`s either a Richard Herder, Krebs or an un marked example.
I scored a "MINTY" dovehead version of that sword at this years MAX Show!!

OOPS! Forgot ; it was a Richard Herder marked blade.
Hello Denise...I have a modest amount of knowlege on these swords...the one you have pictures of is a very nicely preserved example as everyone has noted and I agree...In my opinion the price is probably decent...I sold one several years ago not in near as good as condition, it did not have the portee nor the shoulder strap...I sold mine at a gunshow to an individual as I was walking in the door for $750 US...I love the ruby eyed lions head swords, think they are quite attractive collecting pieces...hope you can scrape up the funds and get it on the lowside as you feel there may not be much interest...hey you may even get a steal...best of luck...Elliott
oops sorry just realized how old this thread was way, way late...hope you have it in your collection now....Elliott
