I would say about the one in Tom Wittmanns site should not be compared to be the bible example ...meaning that
Tom authored an excellent reference on the subject...yet no author or dealer is exempt from human error. I'm not saying that the example on Toms site is wrong..but we must keep an open mind that there are other collections and dealers to study from as an ongoing journey ..and not put our faith in google images.
The fact of study lays within us and we ourselves are responsible for our own decisions in authenticity. We have to study.
The thread has seemed to have trailed off a little ..starting with scabbard bands and ending with lightning bolt and hammered scabbards.
This thread has run its course ..and Paul was very pleased with the outcome of his dagger and the participation that followed.
