12th flottila u boat badge.

Hello all.
A friend of mine has come upon this large badge with the wolf, globe of the 12th flotilla. I have some ges gesch marked badges which are a lot smaller. I've put them in the pics for comparison. The ges gesch badges measure around 15mm x 19 mm where as this one measures around 30mm x 35 mm. It does not have any markings on it. It came from the collection of a recently deceased person who apparently had medals, totenkopfs, badges etc collected over many years. I don't know if it's a fake so does anybody else?

The coffin shaped pin plate is a sure sign of a fake badge.

As Brett said, anything with the coffin pin attachment is a post war item.

Thanks for the replies gents. Adrian, this is my small collection. Skull and crossbone pin - U 753 with inscription "Noch Noch Und" which translates to "And Yet Still". U boat badge pin, i've included my mates 12 th flotilla. Viking Boat - U 83. Devil - U552, and last but not least eagle and swastika - U 132.
I've also included a pic of a genuine Junghans u boat 30 second stopwatch i have. Unfortunately it doesn't work tho! If it could speak it might have some very interesting stories to tell!!
