    Default 5th Don Cossack Badge - De-Nazified

    Good evening guys,

I have just been offered this 5th Don Cossack Badge. I have compared it to known original examples and I believe it to be an original example.

Can anybody tell me the origins of these badges and also how rare they really are. I saw a badge in original condition with an asking price of $2,500- is this the going rate?

    Thank you, Glen.

Thank you Ralph - I did look at that post to make a comparison and it appears to match. The way to spot a bad one is a curley '9' in the '1941'.

    Thank you, Glen.

For me the best way to spot a real one is if the pin mounting tunnel on the reverse is visible on the front.

    Hi Jerry,

I wasn't aware of this - if you click on the picture and zoom in you can see a visible line below the '5' and above the '28X'.

    Thank you, Glen.
