Re: Adolf Hitler 50th Birthday Silver Presentation Cross
BOGUS .........! It could possibly be some sort of un-official 'jewellery'
I suppose, but it is VERY cheap looking. Not a fan.........!

Re: Adolf Hitler 50th Birthday Silver Presentation Cross
Im no expert but id say even the spange is bad?

Re: Adolf Hitler 50th Birthday Silver Presentation Cross
That's Ok...I invited comments. But neither looks cheap to me. However, even the best originals only cost a couple marks to produce at the time. That's why they were called the knives, forks and cauliflower to the tin tie,, the German Cross was called "the Order of the Fried Egg", and the Eastern Front medal the Eisbeinorden, "the Order of the Frozen Feet"
Thanks, you are welcome to your opinion, expert or not

Re: Adolf Hitler 50th Birthday Silver Presentation Cross
Sorry, Reno. Absolutely not a period original.

I've never seen this cross anywhere.........

Re: Adolf Hitler 50th Birthday Silver Presentation Cross
Safe to assume that a piece made to celebrate the 50th Birthday of Adolf would not be of this terrible low quality but that aside this is a fantasy !!

Re: Adolf Hitler 50th Birthday Silver Presentation Cross
You're exactly right, I agree completely. At that time the WWII Eisernes Kreuz and the Ritterkreuz (and even WWII itself) did not exist...

The frozen meat award was so named because of the terrible winter of 1942/42 where temperatures dropped to - 50 in Russia and many German soldiers froze to death and / or suffered from frostbite !! The DKiG looked like a fried egg or so the the soldiers thought , just like the RK was known as the throat ache , nothing to do with how much they cost although all these awards were made of much higher quality than this one you have posted,
cheers
