Interestingly, although not altogether surprisingly, the above photographs of the alleged "Birthday Presentation Cross" are from... yes, you guessed it...:

For the description and "background data" on the item see: German Iron Cross Related Items (scroll down a bit)
Blimey Snyder has surpassed himself with this trash !!

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Why am I not surprised to find out that old Charlie is a source of this ludicrous thing...
"Also in my collection is the same cross with swords much like the swords to the Oak Leaf Cluster with a ribbon ring rather than bottle pinback as this one has."
I almost hesitate to ask to see what This cross mentioned must be, in that case.

Looks like Charlie snared another unsuspecting collector.
Perhaps. Likely one without his own camera.........!

Steve.
Hmm...Reno said that "his jeweler examined" this cross. And yet the photos are from Charlie Snyder's site. Maybe.....Reno IS Charlie? Hmm...? lol

In my next post I will be sending new photos of this cross and one with swords. I have examined these with a loupe and when you see them you will have to agree that they are very nice quality and the detail is fantastic. The photos I sent were a stock photo from another site. These will be quite different... I will also be sending photos of two sets of Oak Leaves with Swords. For these I would appreciate comments from members who either own a known original or have examined a know original personally in hand.

And..........you are exactly right, I did use a stock photo from" that site" because i already had it on file...I did say I had only seen one other and stated the sale price. I'm happy that you "experts" are so concerned about something that you declared a "horrible fake"! The next post photos will NOT be from "that site" and will be of items that "that site" DOES NOT have...
Thanks!
Reno
Why the hostility? You really expect to get any assistance from anyone with that tone?
