I hate to say it HC, but I have reservations about this badge, the hinge doesn't match known originals and the arms of the swastika appear more widely spaced than those i've seen before. But I think you need to wait for better informed opinions from Adrian, Joe et al as I can't be 100% sure, so I hope i'm mistaken mate.
Regards, Ned.
'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.

In memory of Capt. Robert Falcon Scott, Edward Wilson, Henry Bowers, Lawrence Oates and Edgar Evans. South Pole Expedition, 30th March 1912.
I am not very familiar with the pilot badges, but i have it compared side by side with original badges and had a look in my books.I would agree with Ned,that it is not a wartime piece.
The hole on the top of the rivets it is also not a good sign compared with original badges of B&NL.We are looking forward to hear more opinions...
Pre- War in fact, and it has a very thin profile. A very early variant.
Ok, can you qualify your claims that it is an early pre war variant. This badge doesn't match known and original examples so therefore it needs evidence from yourself to.educate the rest of us as to why you believe it to be good.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
