Bahnschutz service medal ????

Hi gang!

I'm having trouble finding this one. The back is marked "Fur Treue Dienste" and has a "900" marking on the back.

Any ideas?

"Fur Treue Dienste'' is for faithful service so its some type of service award.
900 didnt seem like a maker mark so i had a quick internet search and it appears to be a halmark

The 900 would indicate silver content, tbe winged wheel looks like the railway symbol but other than that I have no idea.

Have you got a pic of the reverse?

I am thinking this might be a watch fob presentation type item as opposed to an actual official medal. I have never seen one before either. I would like to know what "Bzw 1" stands for?

I agree it sure looks like a fob, but a bit of a mystery too. It's been presented for loyal service according to what's on the reverse apparently, and the front design reminds me of the Stahlhelm Bund badge, but with the swastika.

Maybe it's a Freikorps membership related item for railway employees (Drivers, Guards, Station Masters, Railway Police etc.) that have been long term members? I would think railway workers would have been an important part of a volunteer military or paramilitary organisation, that's my best guess, very interesting all the same.
