In my opinion it's a good example of the 2nd pattern Assmann Beobachterabzeichen with Tombak eagle and the thick N/S wreath. But still best wait for other informed opinions.

Yes, we could say it's a mint badge.
I've already saw such rivets, catch, hinge on another badge. Only the pin is a bit long, but I don't know if it's a clue of fake or not.

i have to dissagree here. This is a close copy imo...well made, but enough problems in the details. Spend no money for it!
Wrong shape in details of eagle and wreath. Wrong riveting...close, but not how it shoult look. Wrong finish of the wreath. Set-up is also not good imo.
