I think the lighting on the photos may make it seem darker than it looks to me.. How do you differentiate between a bronze and gold from the photos? This is a 2 piece, die struck tombac badge with coke bottle pin and soldered catch.

It's always a question of the lighting and "feeling " regarding grades of the CCC / FFS.
Perhaps this picture may convince you ( different lighting and makers :
1.On top non questionable gold
2.Middle - bronze one which was mistakenly given a chance as a gold by myself
3.Yours

I have no doubts - yours it's a bronze one.

It can be tricky to judge colours from photos as Flieger says but generally gold is 'gold' and bronze is 'bronze' in hand and his his photos above are a good guide to the differences.

is there a way of measuring the length of the clasps to see if the gold is longer than the bronze???

The die used is the same for any class, so they will all measure the same size. Only the finish differs.

why are these different then?? top bronze, middel silver, botom gold...

It is an optical illusion caused by lining up the items for the photo.

I have found this when taking pics of identical items, the lower one will look bigger.
