Ladies and gentlemen of the forum I present to you my latest treasure, a nice minty Deutsche Kreuz in Gold from the Weißenburg manufacturer, Hermann Schmuck & Cie.

Apart from some minor mothing to the cloth this example is one of the mintier I have seen hence my joy at it finally arriving in the post yesterday. No doubt it will take pride of place in a rearrangement of one of my current displays. Research has indicated that some refer to this as the 'Type 1' due to some character of the aluminium thread although what that unique attribute is I have no idea. I do like the die flaw in the '9' of the '1941' date which is considered to be a flaw unique to the cloth versions of this award.
