Hi John, if it is a very small consolation, your post might help educate others into what a real minefield collecting awards has become. These are not obvious the bendy metal fakes of old like we had to contend with many years ago.

I would urge anyone who has any interest in collecting awards to buy all of the books advertised by my friend Dietrich:

1. Books - Regular Editions - B&D Publihing LLC - Items

Many people might be put off by the cost. This is a real false economy.

you are right of course Ade, as always, however at a show I never seem to have the books to hand.........................

I have most of those that are listed, plus the Bender series, most of the Angola books, and a stash of others. It's not until you get home that you suddenly think "oh no"

Thant's the biggest problem in the future. Fakes will be no longer detected by a quick hand controll. Only after magnifying and comparing with others. Buying on shows an fairs is like playing in a mine field even if you specify yourself in one direction

Hi Guys, I was disscussing this very issue with a friend the other night. We think the future is to have books in PDF format stored on a laptop PC. This you could then take to shows and have the info to hand.
