Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Why would they have been found in Shloss Klessheim - Salzburg, Austria if the Reich Chancery was located in Berlin? I know the Schloss was used by Hitler after 1938 for conferences and what not, but doesn't make sense for the awards to have been there, does it?

come on john
There's a lot of nudge, nudge, wink, wink, going on here, and nothing concrete being suggested. Methinks some are 'FRIT' to reply!
I'll dip a toe and get ready to be shot down in flames by agreeing with Schnellman; the box appears wrong, the hinge isn't right and it should be stamped 'RATH' in gold leaf on that side.
Also not happy with the Rath-Munchen engraving on the pin, the original picture i've seen appears different.
The six donut rivets on JB's appear smaller than the ones on the original picture.
The Swaz looks to have been stamped out and then poorly finished. And finally, the verdigris seems strange on a piece that should be solid silver.
Well, i've had a go, how'd i do? Looking forward to each of my concerns being addressed!
Regards, Ned.
'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.
Last Entry - For God's sake look after our people.'

Hi Tom, they were especially sent there. They were never at the Reich Chancellry.
Cheers, Ade.
Whether it's fake or legit. It's certainly making folks do some digging of their own on this one. Nice to see. Stewy S
Okay Ade, my bad. I see that upon the Americans taking over the schloss they happened across many crates of goods hidden in the attic. Amongst the stuff found were all examples of the DK with diamonds, Social Welfare with diamonds, cased Star to the Grand Cross and many more high end goodies. Apparently the US government forced some of the Vets to "give back" certain items that ended up in a museum. I reckon the Germans hoped the stuff would be safe there as the entrance had also been hidden.

Hi Tom, you got it
I think the story about the "West Point" crosses is really shameful.
