hello,
can somebody tell me if this is a real Drl abzeichen?
Is it early war or late war? Is the pin on the back ok?
Thank you.

Good original pre war quality.

hello, how do you know this is a pre war abzeichen?
Is there some way to see it?
Thanks.
As Ade says, 'pre war quality' - the standards dramatically lowered as the war went on. Late 1930's badges are of much higher quality in terms of construction and materials compared with those made in 1943/44/45.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
It is in excellent condition too..........
In have one from the same maker with slightly thinner catch,
probably a later version.
Regards,
Steve.
Hi, as Adrian has stated, pre war badges like this one were made of "Tombak", a brass alloy. As the war progressed metal standards declined and badges eventually become made from zinc alloy with a bronze wash finish.
Cheers, Ade.
Very nice and in great condition !

Hello,
Another question
I would like to collect all of the drl and dra abzeichen in bronze,silver,gold,...
Should I stay with wernstein jena or should I collect from different manufacturers?
Thanks.
Collect them all in the different grades and from different makers. Wernstein Of Jena was a good quality maker.
Cheers, Ade.
