Yes they are. The full size and miniatures are both very common awards but the minis are less numerous. The maker, if I read it correctly as L/53, is Hymmen & Co. Lüdenschied.

The half size awards are very scarce as are the various fullsize/halfsize/minis mounted on brooches, ribbons or other methods of wearing them.

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

I had to triple check it....it is L/58 Don't know if that matters on maker or not.

    Thanks Mike

The one above looks to have been repaired. The swastika is attached
incorrectly and off-center. It is supposed to be 'square on', like the
example of a full size version in the photo below............

In that case, L/58 is Rudolf Souval of Vienna.

You do find these awards from time to time with off centre central discs. The centre was applied seperately and there usually is a male and female part which join up, normally a square or triangle, ie: the cross will have a raised square and the centre disc will have a square recess which will fit over the raised part and the the swastika can be aligned in that way. Sometimes this didn't always happen.........
