Nothing wrong other than a bit of wear - it's a good one.
It may have been rubbed from hanging
beside a first war EK II.........

HAHA great news! Thanks. I've been having bad luck with reproductions. :/
These are still very plentiful, and also comparatively inexpensive,
so no real need to fake them - It's likely to have happened
though, with everything else being copied these days.
This type of cross was my first war medal purchase.
$12 - ages ago in the mid 1970's.........
Regards,
Steve.
HAHA So with inflation maybe $30 now. I'll take what I can get.
Usually around $20 - $25 with ribbon.........
These are interesting to collect in their own right, as there are
three types and many different makers. Probably the most
common German award.
Regards,
Steve.
As Steve says, a good cross, no need to worry about it being a reproduction. There were many makers of these awards so a variation in numbers and minor details is inevitable.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Very nice, I am a late comer to collecting these crosses as I have only recently discovered just how attractive they are !
