It's nasty for sure.
My initial inspection technique when checking out a badge (in hand) before I look at anything else is always to look at the reverse. In this case it is far too rough and almost looks like something made in a cookie cutter!
However, I don't think I would have even picked this one off the table. Look how weak and ill defined the obverse is. You can instantly see that this did not come out of a high pressure industrial process either die forging or stamping. I hope you didn't buy this?
