Fliegerschaftsabzeichen, authentic?

Just wanted to make sure this badge is authentic, from what I have researched it appears to be. I would just like to make sure. Mfg. mark L/12. Thanks

A very poor cast fake I'm afraid, An original certainly wouldn't of had the Laurel & oak leaves starting on the right hand side amongst other things.

Just out of interest here are a couple of pictures courtesy of Uniforms and insignia of the Luftwaffe 1933-1940 by Brian L Davis, One of the real badge as worn by Hermann Goring In his capacity as Reichminister der Luftfahrt around 1935. The other an artists impression.





Looks to me what the fakers have done is got a repro standard pilots badge and more or less just rotated the eagle thru 90 degrees. Regards ,Paul
