I'm sure other will be able to help out a bit more but from these images I don't like it.
I'm struggling to match it to a maker conclusively and I have no idea what's going on in the red circled area below.
Hopefully one of the guys who knows more about these badges can add their thoughts.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Ooh Kevin, always hard to tell.
The wing feather's edges look good and sharp ( die trimmed rather than cast ) and the wreath as well.
I like the catch and the cropped pin - is the impression in the case matching and what of the case overall?
I'm no "expert" and I've been fooled before but I would fall for this one.
Cheers, Dan
Thanks Adrian - there you go Kevin, that's why I don't collect badges!!!
Hi
It also looks like the back near the catch has broken and someone has tried to repair it. A bit of a "Frankenstein" badge in my opinion. It has the detail you would expect from an original badge but has some issues (as Adrian has said) as-well witch you would not see on an original badge.
Thanks
Cameron
The cut areas on the reverse are a continuation of the cuts on the obverse.

Thats a very crude fake, not even close to anything original.
Thank you for confirming János. Out of curiosity, which maker do you think this is trying to be?

Hello Adrian,
I have seen these with mark Juncker, this one looks marked to but I can't read the mm. Hard to tell which is the closest observe design, maybe OM?
Fake, those cuts are so off putting.
