The catch is actually a neat design, but it was never used in WW2, only on Souval's post war made fakes.
It is a round piece of metal, which is cut in two places: this allows the metal to be pulled up and bent over to form the catch.

Besides, this eagle design not seen on original war time badges and the folded clips (instead of rivets) are typical of the flight badges copies I got stung with more oftem than I care to remember in the early 70's

That eagle is also unlike anything found on a period made badge. Compare it with the many different examples shown here.
