that *****. my mothers husband got it in the 1980's over seas when he was in the navy. also i could swear the metal is real silver well thats cencored. crap

Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting. Unfortunately I agree with Paul, a very very bad fake and nothing like an original in terms of quality.

Thanks for posting the photos. It may help to show you some good Iron Crosses, that way you can compare yours to the good ones. Among other things, you should take notice of the loop on yours, and compare to the loops on the Iron Cross Second Class examples on my site...

WW2 German Medals

Note how the loops on mine are attached compared to yours. It isn't always the cross itself that is the tell. The devil is sometimes in the details.

Adrian and several others on this forum have seen a lot of items posted by me for review, and as a result have saved me from a TON of bad buys! I've learned a great deal from them. They're very knowledgeable people to say the least!
