I too have heard the tales about this cross. As was said above, the stories are doubtful. I believe that if it were a genuine award, being so rare and all, then we could expect to see photographic proof of a presentation ceremony, or at least documentation. The item on Snyder's site has "lost" the accompanying paperwork too eh...? Hmmm
