Hi Al, looks fine to me.
Cheers, Ade.
Everything looks fine to me too.
This guy was a well-seasoned veteran.
Looks good to me too, any chance of a reverse shot of the EK2? I think it might be a Juncker but the obverse is heavily worn and difficult to tell for sure.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
The ribbon bar is fake. Ohio parts bar. look @ the catch. Snipped brass. bad.
also the war merit medal would not be on a bar filled with combat and occupation medals...
As said, the 'War Merit Medal' was a civil award !
Also, the ribbon bar shows the War Merit Cross 'with swords', where the medal bar
has a 'without swords' cross attached.
Plus there should be TWO Long Service awards, but only one medal is present
on the medal bar - if indeed the ribbon bar is associated with this set - these
are always worn as a '12' and '4' Year pair...........
Regards,
Steve.
I agree, the awards themselves look ok, although the condition is not the best. The awards do not tally up though. Lets get this straight - WW1 non combatant, WW2 combatant then WW2 non combatant with only 4 years service!
