Re: I found a unknown medal ,what is it??
Looks like a one-sided plaque of some sort. I cannot tell
if it's good or not though.........

Re: I found a unknown medal ,what is it??
It looks, like a pre-war table medal. Probably for a shooting contest.
But I do not think they had Velcro at that time.

Re: I found a unknown medal ,what is it??
I would agree with the table medal, and also that the Velcro and glue are recent additions.

Re: I found a unknown medal ,what is it??
The Velcro and glue where been put on by me to stick the Medal on an Display board.

Re: I found a unknown medal ,what is it??
a nice idea, but the addition of glue and velcro may have detracted its value.

Never stick anything to a medal or use any form of adhesive to display your collection.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Re: I found a unknown medal ,what is it??
I don't believe this is a table medal, as they were die struck and have
excellent reverses - the way coins are made - sometimes with
wording or makers marks. This is cheaply made, whatever
it is, and that is why I cannot comment on it being a
period piece.
Though if I had to guess, I'd say: fake/repro........

Re: I found a unknown medal ,what is it??
I have to agree with steve i believe it is a repro !!

Re: I found a unknown medal ,what is it??
I think you are right that it is a reproduction, only thing on my mind is why is it been reproduced as there is nothing to find about it.
If it is a scarce item I can see that it has been reproduced for the people who like to make money out of this practice.
It cost a lot of time and afford to make such a item whatever it may be.
I put it in the box with the other fake's.
