Re: I need your opinion about this badge.
i'll give you my opinion with the caveat that you wait for some more.
i could be wrong but this just doesn't look right to me.
the badge is unknown to me personally. the pin is very odd in the way it attaches to the hinge especially. the bend at the hinge attachment point is strange. you will see this kind of thing in some authentic badges, but the feature is formed with the pin and not bent into the pin afterwards as seems the case here.
the "851g" marking seems odd and superfluous. the "ges. gesch" marking with the "Assmann" mark strike me this way as well.
the hinge itself is attached "off centre" and this indicates a substandard level of workmanship i'd not expect in a period German badge of this type.
the pattern of aging (tarnish) seems contrived to me as well.
i have little confidence in this one.
perhaps someone can enlighten me as to whether they have seen such a badge. i would not like to confuse my experience with the limits of the universe here.

Re: I need your opinion about this badge.
I've never seen this medal before, either. Doesn't mean it never existed, though.

Re: I need your opinion about this badge.
It's an NSDAP decoration, the Gau-Ehrenzeichen für Ostpreußen [Gau Honor Badge for East Prussia].
(I don't think it's a real one, though.)

Re: I need your opinion about this badge.
Thank all of you
Maybe somebody has an original and post some pictures?
It should be interesting to see the differences between an authentic and the fake one.

Re: I need your opinion about this badge.
The odd thing is, Assman did, indeed, make these badges, but the workmanship on This example is atrocious-just look as the horrible crooked hinge. A shame, as these badges are running somewhere in the neighborhood of $3,000 or more these days..

Re: I need your opinion about this badge.
Hello.
As mentioned before this is supposed to be an Ostpreussen Gau Ehrenzeichen 1938.
It is a nice looking badge but a reproduction in my opinion.
The only genuine badges I have seen and accepted as originals are made from aluminium with an oxidised silver finish. This one seems to be made from tombac or similar.
I have not seen one made by Assmann and there are none in his catalogue reprint. I believe there were only made by Wachter and Lange?
All the best
