Hi Chaps, here's the latest addition to my K&Q collection via Klaus B. Not seen many of these. I presume they also made silver & gold grades; but I've never seen them,

This is an unissued piece, was the ribbon wrapped around the cross when it arrived with you?

Hi Adrian, I'll have to have a proper look. I couldn't find any other K&Q examples.

No, the ribbon wasn't wrapped around the cross when it got to me; but it must have been at some stage as you can see a ribbon mark on the back of the cross.

I just wonder if this cross might be from the Deschler hoard and possibly not from the K&Q envelope?

Yes. That's the trouble.

Because they're unmarked it's impossible to say which manufacturer made them and if crosses and packets get matched up over time it makes it all the more confusing.

The ribbon marks on the cross are exactly the same as on my Deschler pieces, the ribbon was wrapped around the crosses for 70+ years and left a mark - the same as on your piece......
